He watches as the smallest dog tries to defend himself against the two large, vicious dogs. Stephen scares off the large dogs and rescues the small dog . He names him Scrappy, because he is a fierce fighter, takes him home, cleans him up, and tends to his wounds.

More than anything, Stephen wants to keep Scrappy as a pet. His dad does not want the extra cost and responsibility of dog ownership. His mom is tired of the boys fighting.

Stephen comes up with a plan to prove to his parents that he and Henry can take care of Scrappy. To make his plan work, Stephen must learn to cooperate with his younger brother and manage his anger, which he does.

Stephen rescues Scrappy from the hard life of a street dog. In turn, Scrappy also saves Stephen. Scrappy motivates Stephen to make important life changes and take responsibility for his actions and choices.

Lavishly illustrated with magical iPad paintings, Stephen & Scrappy includes membership to “Kids Club Doggos” and a special feature section with the “In-N-Out Technique” for anger management.

Some she can save, others she can’t.

When her dad finds a little puppy covered in cuts and bruises shivering behind a dumpster on a stormy night and brings the tiny animal home, Charlotte is thrilled to take care of him. She names him Boo Boo. Charlotte’s compassionate nature, and the nursing skills she learned from her grandmother, help restore Boo Boo to good health. Simon, Charlotte’s best friend, has a dog named Butch. Boo Boo and Butch often play together and become good friends, too.

In third grade, Charlotte and Simon have a new teacher from India named Mrs. Sharma, who teaches them about compassion. She explains that compassion is being kind, even to people you don’t really like. The kids all roll their eyes, but once Charlotte understands what compassion means, she explores her own nature and finds heroes she admires.

Lavishly illustrated with magical iPad paintings, the book includes membership to, “Kids Club Doggos,” and a special feature section called, “Charlotte’s Kings and Queens of Compassion.”
